Non acceptance of orders
We may not be able to accept your order, or part of your order, due to one of the following reasons:
- Authorisation of your payment failed
- We made a pricing or product description error
- The product you ordered is not in stock or not in a saleable condition
- You're not eligible to order from Blackwell and Denton Ltd
- Overseas address, sorry - UK shipping only
- Cards registered to foreign addresses or a foreign bank.
If there are any problems with an order, you'll be contacted by one of our Customer Services Advisors.
We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details and prices of products appearing on this website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep the website as up to date as possible, information appearing on this website at a particular time may not always reflect the exact situation at the moment you place your order, please note that in the case of lighting, light bulbs are not included unless otherwise stated.

Prices include VAT at 20% as from January 2011 and exclude our delivery charge unless otherwise stated.

We pride ourselves on our rapid service and aim to despatch all orders promptly: you should receive yours within 5 working days. If for some reason your parcel doesn't arrive within 10 working days, please contact us by phone on 01904 659066.
Couriered delivery requires a signature, couriers are not authorised to leave parcels unattended for security reasons.
Firstly, please make sure that you check your items carefully before you use them. Secondly, we recommend that you keep your receipt, packaging and order number, which can be found on your order confirmation email or on the order invoice that comes with your delivery, because you might need it as proof of purchase in the event of any after-sales enquiry.
To place an order you will be asked to provide a valid email address so that we can send a confirmation email as soon as your order has been dispatched. This helps you to know when your delivery will be made.
Delivery to gift addresses
If you have chosen a gift address for an expensive item and it needs to be delivered to a cardholders address for security reasons, you will be contacted by one of our sales advisors.
Direct delivery by Suppliers
Certain items sold on our website are delivered direct from our Suppliers. This will be indicated in the relevant product information so please refer to individual products. Lead times for these items do vary from 7 working days up to 28 days. Please be aware that certain direct deliveries can only be delivery to Mainland UK addresses.
Deliveries are made by Business Post – DHL – Royal Mail . In the event that you are not home at the time of the delivery, a card will be left. You can then either wait for the second delivery attempt (usually the next working day) or phone the Business Post – DHL – Royal Mail number to make an arrangement to collect from their local depot at a convenient time.
If we are still unable to make a successful delivery after two attempts, your order will be held at Business Post – DHL – Royal Mail depot for 5 working days, after this your order will be returned to our warehouse. You can then request the order to be re-delivered but this will incur an Extra delivery cost.

In certain circumstances, such as traffic accidents, extreme weather conditions or unforeseen technical problems, we may be unable to fulfill your delivery in accordance with these terms. For such exceptions, we may require additional time and effort to fulfill the delivery. If this occurs, we will make our best efforts to deliver your order as soon as we possibly can, or you may opt to cancel and receive a full refund.
General terms of delivery
- We deliver to all mainland UK addresses with a valid postcode.
- We also deliver to the Scottish Islands, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight and Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland but these incur premium charges. We will contact you with any extra costing before your order is sent for delivery.
- Delivery times apply only to products in stock.
- Our couriers work throughout the day, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) so your order may arrive any time between 9.00am and 5.30pm
- We do not deliver on weekends or Bank Holidays
- All deliveries must be signed for by either yourself or a trusted friend/neighbour
- Products may be dispatched from different locations and may therefore arrive separately - you will not incur additional delivery charges under these circumstances
- For security reasons we cannot deliver to a BFPO address
- We reserve the right not to deliver orders if we believe the address is not secure, for example, to communal postal address or a PO BOX - if this affects an order you place, we will notify you as soon as possible.
NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS
PLEASE WOULD ALL CUSTOMERS NOTE WE DO NOT SUPPLY ANY SPARE PARTS OR GOODS ON A SALE OR RETURN BASIS. ONCE THE GOODS HAVE BEEN DESPATCHED THE ORDER CAN NOT BE CANCELLED.
All goods which are sold from our internal stock or goods SPECIALLY ORDERED to fill your requirements cannot be accepted back for, REFUND OR CREDIT. All goods specially ordered which is not a standard stock item must be paid for in full before goods can be placed on order.
Any goods sold which have been fitted or used can not be returned for refund or credit.
To assist us in ensuring that you receive the correct goods or spare parts we require the following information
MODEL NUMBER – PRODUCT NUMBER – SERIAL NUMBER – AGE OF APPLIANCE – COLOUR
Please note that we do not refund the delivery cost. As soon as we receive the returned item(s) in saleable condition, we will refund the card you made the original purchase with. Please note that for security reasons we can’t refund a different credit/debit card to the one you placed the original order on and we can only send out replacement products to the delivery address specified in the original order.
If you change your mind about an order and want to cancel it, you can do so up to the point before despatched if goods have already been despatched by us, we ask that you refer to the customer notice above.
Please note that you are responsible for all return carrier costs in the event of a cancellation. If goods need to be returned, please contact us on 01904 659066 or E -mail email@example.com but you are free to make your own arrangements at your own expense.
Please notify within 24 hours of receipt any shortages or if any goods have been damaged in transit. Photographic evidence maybe required. Claims beyond the 24 hour period will not be considered.
Weee - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling
the UK WEEE regulations a distributor is defined as 'any person who
provides electrical and electronic equipment on a commercial basis to
the party who is going to use it'.
Distributors who supply new EEE have an obligation to ensure that WEEE from private households can be returned to the system free of charge.
Blackwell and Denton Limited is fulfilling their distribution obligations as a member of the WEEE distributor take back scheme and is providing consumer information through http://www.recycle-more.co.uk/
In accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations.
The bank locator, including facilities for the collection of WEEE, has been an extremely successful feature and is now supporting the government's own recycling brand, Recycle your old electrical items Now.
These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
